Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CLIPPR (the "Service") — the CLIPPR website, dashboard, editor, and browser extension. By creating an account, installing the extension, or purchasing a plan, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Note: this document is a thorough starting point, not legal advice. Have counsel review it for your jurisdiction (and your consumer-law obligations) before you rely on it.

1. Who can use CLIPPR

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, if higher) to use the Service, and old enough to form a binding contract. If you use CLIPPR on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it to these Terms.

2. Accounts & sign-in

  • CLIPPR uses sign-in with Twitch and Kick (OAuth). We never receive or store your platform password.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your connected platform accounts secure.
  • You may connect or disconnect Twitch and Kick at any time from the Connections page.

3. The browser extension & how capture works

  • The extension captures a clip inside your own logged-in browser tab, using the clip feature the platform (Twitch/Kick) already provides to you. Capture happens on your device.
  • We forward only clip metadata (e.g. the clip URL, thumbnail, title, streamer, duration) to your CLIPPR library. Your platform session tokens, cookies, and credentials never leave your device and are never sent to our servers.
  • You are responsible for using the extension in line with Twitch's and Kick's own Terms of Service and Developer Agreements. Do not use CLIPPR to circumvent platform protections or rate limits.

4. Your content

  • "Your Content" means the clips, captions, projects, uploads (video, image, audio, fonts), and exports you create or upload. You retain ownership of Your Content.
  • You grant CLIPPR a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, transcode, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you (e.g. storing in our cloud, generating captions, rendering exports).
  • You represent that you have the rights to capture, upload, edit, and export Your Content, including any third-party footage, music, or imagery it contains. You are responsible for clearing those rights.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • capture or post content you do not have the right to use;
  • infringe intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights;
  • upload unlawful, harmful, or abusive content;
  • reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or attempt to bypass the Service's security, rate limits, or plan limits;
  • resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission.

6. Plans, add-ons, billing & cancellation

  • CLIPPR offers a free plan plus paid plans (Pro, Studio). Paid plans and recurring add-ons are billed monthly through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • Storage add-on is a recurring monthly subscription item that adds cloud storage for as long as it is active.
  • Caption credit packs are one-time purchases that add a consumable balance of auto-caption runs. Credits are used after your monthly plan allowance and do not expire, but are non-transferable and have no cash value.
  • You can cancel a subscription at any time via the billing portal; cancellation stops future renewals and your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, and partial billing periods are not pro-rated on cancellation. Prices may change on notice; changes apply to the next billing period.
  • You authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for all fees incurred. Taxes may apply based on your location.

7. Plan limits

Each plan includes defined limits (auto-caption runs per month, cloud storage, maximum upload size, overlays per project, export resolution, and whether exports carry the CLIPPR watermark). Current limits are shown on the pricing and billing pages and are enforced by the Service. We may adjust limits with reasonable notice.

8. Watermark & exports

Exports on the free plan carry the CLIPPR watermark; paid plans may export without it. You may use your watermark-free exports for any lawful purpose, subject to your having the rights to the underlying footage.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties to function, including Supabase (auth + database), Cloudflare R2 (media storage), Stripe (payments), and transcription and stock-media providers. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms where applicable. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control, including Twitch and Kick.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and the CLIPPR name and logo, is owned by CLIPPR and protected by law. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service. No other rights are granted.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that captures, transcriptions, or exports will be accurate or complete.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CLIPPR will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the platforms we integrate with. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. ownership, disclaimers, liability) will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email. Your continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
